Stumbles into design & curating visual appeal
Learning Photoshop in late 2012, he begins tinkering with graphic design and practicing a technique called photobashing. This becomes his entry point into design.
Born in 1998, is a budding afro-surrealist artist and visionary primarily dealing in digital mediums. Originally from North Carolina, Theo now resides and works in Brooklyn, NY.

My work is situated between things both familiar and unsettled. I often borrow from contemporary visual culture, religious iconography, personal myth and life when creating. I am constantly re-examining themes of transformation, confinement, faith, and self-authorship stemming from my own personal triumphs and struggles.
Using color, texture, and surreal composition I build environments viewers can reflect their situations in.
In my visuals texture is introduced to counter the immaterial nature of the digital image, introducing friction that slows perception that sort of urges a physical yearning.
As I move across visual art, fashion, and conceptual design through different disciplines, I am interested in how ideas arrive to me and how they are refined.
I encourage viewers to slow down and engage attentively.

Gifted his first camera, a Samsung fixed-lens point-and-shoot. Soon after, he saves for a Nikon D3200 and leans into photography as a primary medium, shooting in public and at school with friends while practicing video FX.
Encouraged by friends already present in full artistic careers, he transitions from treating art as a hobby into a more serious, consistent practice and begins his digital art journey.
Relocates to NYC and enrolls at Pace University after a BS in Information Technology, eventually adding a minor in Art and refining his digital tapestry language.
During a study abroad period, he moves to Paris, sees Europe for the first time, engages new cultures and perspectives, expands his visual vocabulary, learns to paint, and creates a small series of works.
Returns to NYC and exhibits in group shows with Pace University and MONAD Galleries while leaning into accessories and merchandising work under his own creative direction.
